1. Who we are

Dilu: English for Kids ("Dilu" or "the app") and this website, dilu.prabhavalabs.com, are made by Prabhava Labs (prabhavalabs.com), [registered name, registration number and address]. We are responsible for any personal information described in this policy. In data-protection law this makes us the "controller". You can reach us at dilu@prabhavalabs.com.

2. The app

2.1 What the app does not collect

In this version, the app does not ask for or collect any personal information about you or your child. There is no sign-up and no account. The app has no advertising, no analytics, no tracking tools and no software from other companies that collects data. It does not use advertising identifiers or your location, and it does not send anything to us or to anyone else.

2.2 What stays on your phone or tablet

To work, the app saves some information only on your device:

• the language you chose for Dilu;
• for each child profile you add: a nickname, a picture chosen from the app, an age group (5–6 or 7–8) and a starting point;
• progress: lessons finished, words learned, stars, stickers and your child's parrot;
• your settings, such as the daily lesson limit and the sound level.

This information never leaves your device, and we cannot see it. Please use a nickname rather than your child's full name.

If your phone backs up apps to your Google or Apple account, this information may be included in your own backup. That backup is controlled by you and by Google or Apple, not by us.

2.3 The microphone

"Say it with Dilu" invites your child to say words out loud. If you allow the microphone during parent setup, the app listens only while a speaking activity is on the screen. The sound is checked on the device, in the moment, only to notice that your child spoke. It is not recorded, saved, scored or sent anywhere. If you do not allow the microphone, the app still works fully. You can change this at any time in your device's settings.

2.4 Deleting what the app saved

In the parent corner, behind the grown-up check, you can delete one child's data or delete everything. Uninstalling the app also removes everything it saved.

2.5 The app stores

You download Dilu from the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google), which handle information about you under their own privacy policies, for example to process the download. They give us general statistics, such as the number of downloads, and crash reports if you have agreed in your device's settings to share them with app developers. These do not tell us who you or your child are.

2.6 Internet

The first course is inside the app, so the app does not need the internet to work. If a later version downloads new lessons, we will update this policy first.

3. This website

3.1 No cookies and no tracking

This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Its fonts, pictures and code all come from our own server. When you visit, your browser does not contact any other company.

3.2 Server logs

Like every website, our server receives some technical information when your browser asks for a page: the date and time, the page requested, your browser type and your IP address. We shorten the IP address before it is saved (we remove the last part of it), so it no longer identifies your connection. We keep these logs for [14] days to keep the website working and secure, and then delete them. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in running a safe website.

The website runs on a server we rent in Germany. The company we rent it from processes this information only on our behalf and under our instructions.

3.3 Your choices on this website

If you choose a language, the website remembers it in your browser's storage ("local storage"), so your next visit opens in that language. If you pause animations, that choice is remembered in the same way. These choices stay in your browser and are never sent to us. You can clear them in your browser's settings.

4. When you email us

If you write to dilu@prabhavalabs.com, for example to ask us to tell you when Dilu is ready, to try it early, or for help, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and your message. We use them only to reply to you and, if you asked, to tell you when Dilu is ready. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your email with anyone.

This website does not use an email service: messages you send go straight to our own inbox at dilu@prabhavalabs.com. We keep messages for as long as we need them to help you, and delete them within [12 months] of our last reply, or sooner if you ask.

Please do not send us your child's name, photos or recordings. If you do, we will delete them.

5. Children

Dilu is made for children aged 5 to 8 and is set up by a parent. In this version, the app collects no information from children. This website is meant for parents. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

6. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share personal information, and we never use it for advertising. The only other companies involved are those that host our website and our email, and they act on our instructions.

7. Where information is kept

• Website server: Germany (European Union).
• Email: our own inbox; no email service handles your messages.
• The app: only on your own device.

8. How long we keep it

• Server logs: [14 days].
• Emails: up to [12 months] after our last reply.
• App data: on your device, until you delete it or uninstall the app.

9. Security

The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to our server and our mailbox is limited to the people who run Dilu and is protected by [strong passwords and two-step sign-in].

10. Your rights

You can ask us:

• what personal information we hold about you;
• to correct it;
• to delete it;
• to stop using it.

Email dilu@prabhavalabs.com, and we will reply within [one month]. Because the app keeps its information only on your device, we cannot see it or delete it for you; you can delete it yourself in the parent corner.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka under the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022. If you live in the European Union, you can also complain to your local data-protection authority.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy before we release any version of the app that collects information, for example when parent accounts arrive. The new version will appear on this page with its date and a short summary of what changed, and the app will tell parents, behind the grown-up check, before anything new is collected.
